The Shared folder contains three sub folders:
This stores electronic copies of any published primary sources that have been data-mined. Usually a single .pdf document, it should be renamed to exactly match the citationID in the Citations table.
If the source files for these data are spread across several files (such as .csv files from supplementary Information) these should be stored inside a single folder, which should be named to exactly match the citationID.
This is a temporary staging area to home large data sources that are in the process of being mined. Please avoid this folder if possible. It is not a junk box.
We encourage storing shape files of archaeological sites, particularly where the site is very large, or poorly defined (such as a broader geographic region). For example, the precise georeferences for some data sourced from museum collections of material culture have been lost, and only a large geographical region is available. In these cases, Latitude and longitude stored in the Sites table are poor estimates providing false precision. Instead, .kml files storing a polygon of the region is more honest, and the point estimates in the sites table merely represent the centre of these polygons. The file name should exactly match the SiteID.
